Before you hang out
A few things you might be wondering about AeroSloth. You can also ask for support and follow updates.
No. AeroSloth is an independent client app for GoToSocial, Bluesky, and Mastodon. Use just one network, any combination of two, or all three together. You don’t need accounts on every network: connect the accounts you already use, and choose a combined timeline or a view of one account. Your profile, posts, and followers stay on their original network; there’s nothing to migrate.
Yes. Connect multiple accounts across the supported networks, read them together or separately, and choose which account you use to reply, like, or share.
Yes. Choose multiple accounts when composing a new post. AeroSloth checks the selected networks’ character limits and supported attachments. Replies stay with the conversation’s network, and features such as polls depend on what each server supports.
GoToSocial and Mastodon let you follow people without an algorithm choosing your home feed. AeroSloth keeps that chronological home feed and offers a separate, optional Explore Fediverse space: Who to follow helps you find people through your existing connections, Trending surfaces conversations across selected servers, For you ranks those trends on your device using your boosts and likes, and Hashtags helps you explore topics. You decide when to explore.
Turn on Merge duplicate posts in Settings → Reading. AeroSloth does its best to show matching posts once when they reach you through several accounts. That includes following someone natively on Bluesky and through Bridgy Fed on the Fediverse, or natively on the Fediverse and through the bridge on Bluesky. Bridgy Fed connects the networks for accounts that opt in.
If someone has separate accounts and cross-posts to them, you can use Link as the same person to help AeroSloth recognize matching posts. Merged posts let you switch between the available copies, and you can turn merging off whenever you prefer to see them separately.
No. There’s no AeroSloth account, advertising, tracking, or analytics, and I don’t run a server that receives your posts or sign-ins. Your device talks directly to the servers you sign in to. Some features contact other services when you use them, such as map tiles when you attach a map or a video provider when you press Play. The privacy policy explains each one.
They can. A Mac can act as a sync hub on your own network, so your other Macs, iPads, and Android devices share settings, mutes, filters, and saved drafts. Sync is end-to-end encrypted with no cloud account, and each device signs in to your accounts for itself.
The first release in 2027 is planned for iPad, Mac, and Android phones and tablets, with a companion app for Wear OS. An iPhone version might come later, but isn’t planned for the first release.
The watch app connects to AeroSloth on your paired Android phone for notifications and quick actions, including replies. It’s a smaller companion experience, rather than the full timeline app on your wrist.
Yes, previously loaded posts can be read from the encrypted cache on your device. You’ll need an internet connection to load new posts, publish, reply, or react.
The planned price is $29.95 on Apple and $29.95 on Android, with separate purchases through each store. AeroSloth is in development for a 2027 launch. A portion of proceeds will be donated to support GoToSocial and Mastodon. Download links will be added to the pricing and availability section when it launches.
